“A Fresh Voice for Floyd County!”
LaMicra Martin is a graduate of Jeffersonville High School and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Health Administration/Health Information Systems and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Phoenix. She is currently seeking her doctorate of Management in Organizational Leadership/Information Systems and Technology but has put it on hold to seek this office. LaMicra Martin currently serves as Treasurer for the Gilt Edge Baptist Church, Inc. Community Development Corporation, is a board member for Habitat of Humanity of Clark/Floyd, and a member of the National Congress of Black Women. She is very passionate about giving back to the community as well as helping individuals and families.
LaMicra Martin is the wife of Judah Martin and mother of five children; four sons and one daughter. She is a resident of Floyd County. LaMicra was raised in a single parent household with her mother and brother. She has discovered that many of our communities, individuals, and families do not understand the policies and procedures of community organizations that help individuals succeed.
LaMicra believes our elected officials are servants to the community and are obligated to engage with the citizens of the community. Communication should involve exchanging dialog with elected officials and the citizens of our community. Our citizens should never feel their voices are not being heard. Our leaders have the responsibility to empower the community to thrive both socially and economically. When we all work together, a lot more can be accomplished. It is time for a fresh voice and vision.
